After filling up the dome on Saturday night, on Monday the President sent praises to theGusheshe hit-maker because he is the first South African musician to fill up the Ticketpro dome without any international act help.
"We congratulate Cassper Nyovest for his tremendous success which has demonstrated the rich talent that exists within our country's music industry, especially amongst our youth," the statement from the Presidency read.
Speaking on Talk Radio 702 on Monday night, Cassper said he could not believe that the President had praised his contribution and thought it was another false report
"It was completely unexpected. I thought it was fake. There are so many fake stories on the net," he said.
"That statement meant the world to me. It meant that I did something for my country. I had used my talent to inspire.
It's a special moment for South African hip-hop that our president can say something about us," he added.
The rapper said that he had invited President Zuma to the event, but that he had declined due to a busy schedule.
