ISIBAYA’S Nomzamo and Maps Maponyane take their relationship to the next level

ISIBAYA’S Nomzamo Mbatha and Maps Maponyane are getting serious! This claim comes after Nomzamo, who plays Thandeka in the soapie, held a ceremony to welcome Maps at her parents’ KZN home in KwaMashu, north of Durban, just before Christmas.

Sunday Sun sources in the area claim Maps gave each of the neighbours R300 for welcoming him into Thandeka’s family.A neighbour said: “We all thought there was going to be ilobolo negotiations because this wasn’t the first time the boy came here.”

Another neighbour added: “The house was packed with some actors from Isibaya and Uzalo, Maps drank umqombothi with us. We overheard one of Nomzamo’s uncles say a wedding is on the cards.”A third neighbour said: “Maps was told to do what great men do and that’s not to waste any time in marrying Nomzamo.”

Nomzamo posted a picture of Maps arriving at her parents’ house on her Instagram, with a message that read: Look who made a surprise visit to KwaMashu yesterday and had the kids grabbing onto his legs.

And Maps also posted a picture taken while he was drinking umqombothi with a message that reads: When KwaMashu welcomes you with open arms . . . and umqombhothi. What an incredible experience.

The last couple of days I’ve experienced what was definitely one of the best times of my life in Durban, which included conversations with the wise elderly, and a number of happy carefree children who are not yet knowing, family, loved ones and few first time experiences.

Thank you to all the people of KwaMashu for making this Tswana boy from Joburg feel wholeheartedly welcome.

Maps said: “I only went to KwaMashu to visit that’s all and there were no money paid.”

Nomzamo said: “Bullshit and don’t ever call me again. If you call me again, I’ll open a case of harassment,” she said.
