AKA makes history again
Just last weekend AKA entertained the masses at the 15th Metro FM Music Awards (MMAs), which were held at the Durban ICC. But this Sunday, the Baddest hit-maker is making history at the Durban Botanic Gardens.
The award-winning rapper will be the first hip hop artist to headline the popular Old Mutual Music at the Lake concert. A number of musicians including Johnny Clegg, Mafikizolo, The Parlotones and Freshly Ground have performed at this event but this will be the first time a rapper headlines the show.
The Old Mutual Music at the Lake series presents live concerts throughout the year at the Botanic Gardens. The event provides an income for the Durban Botanic Gardens Trust, while catering for the different musical and cultural tastes in a natural setting. Partygoers are allowed to bring their picnic blankets, camp chairs and cooler boxes.
AKA, who won two awards at the MMAs: Best Hit Single with Baddest and Best Collaboration for his his latest single with Diamond Platnumz, Make Me Sing, which reached the number 1 spot in Tanzania.
