Siphiwe Tshabalala donates 380 pair of shoes to the community
The guy known for scoring the first 2010 World Cup goal, Siphiwe Tshabalala has done a great deed. The talented midfielder who plays for Kaizer Chiefs had gone back to basic and donated 380 pairs of shoes to the needy at his former primary school Enkanyezeni in Phiri, Soweto.
‘Shabba’ told TMG Digital that it gives him great pleasure to give back to his community. “I’m very happy. I’m humbled. For me, that’s my message to the kids that there is no excuse for them not to go to school.
“This is their ‘transport’ to school and being successful as I am, it is very important for me to give back to empower the kids. With my foundation, we encourage learners to go to school and take education”.
