THE public is warned about a job advertisement scam claiming that there are positions available at Netcare.

Peter Warrener, human resources director at Netcare, said: “The company’s name is being misused in a series of social media job and training scams. There have been a number of false Facebook posts claiming a company is seeking to employ nurses.” The public has been given some warning signs to look out for when jobs are falsely advertised on social platforms:

• The application form asks for banking details.
• Only a cellphone number is supplied for enquiries as the landline is supposedly out of order.
• A dream job is being promised without applicants having to go for an interview.
• A well-known company’s name is used.
