Possible hijack links to Generations the legacy's Rapulana Seiphemo accident

New evidence suggests that the two passengers travelling with actor Rapulana Seiphemo in his Audi A4 when he was involved in a car crash on Sunday could have been hijackers.
Generations: The Legacy actor Rapulana Seiphemo (48) was involved in a car crash on Sunday night on the N14 near Diepsloot, Johannesburg, that left three people dead.

Now the Sunday Independent has reported that one of the two passengers in Seiphemo’s car died at the scene of the accident, while the other is under police supervision at a Gauteng hospital after allegedly attempting to escape.
According to the publication, the police have reason to believe that the two passengers travelling in Seiphemo’s Audi A4 could have been hijackers.
Both have been identified as residents of Mamelodi, east of Pretoria, and have no relation to Seiphemo.
Earlier in the week, Gauteng police spokeswoman Brigadier Mashadi Selepe was reluctant to disclose any details about the identity of the passengers in Seiphemo’s vehicle, referring to the matter  as “sensitive”.

Police spokesman Captain Tsekiso Mofokeng said yesterday, “All I can confirm is that the injured passenger is under police guard and that forms part of the investigation that’s in progress.”
Mofokeng added that three cases of culpable homicide have been opened and that survivors and witnesses of the accident are and will be supplying statements.
Renel Coertze, a family member of two of the victims who died in the fatal crash, says the family is devastated.

“We’ll be burying my stepson Jeremiah Coertze and my son in-law Donovan van Zyl on Tuesday in Krugersdorp,” she said.
Van Zyl leaves behind his wife and a three-old-son. Renel Coertze has complained about a lack of information from the police as to the cause of the accident.

Generations spokeswoman Gaaratwe Mokhethi said the cast wished Seiphemo a speedy recovery and believed he’d pull through.

The family of the actor says he’s in a much better state than he was on Monday.
“He’s getting so much better and is now talking. We’re all relieved,” his brother in-law Mduduzi Sikhakhane said. The family doesn’t know when he will be discharged.
“A report will be released once the police investigation is completed,” said the spokesman for the Tshwane Metro Police Department,  Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba.
Seiphemo, who plays Tau Mogale in the popular soap, is recovering in ICU at Netcare Milpark Hospital after undergoing an operation on Monday.
