Thembisa Mdoda talks about her experience on OPW
OPW host and actress Thembisa Mdoda, who has become Our Perfect Wedding’s most popular host initially lost out the hosting gig.
Thembisa Mdoda had auditioned for the host post for Season 5 and the show didn’t go with her, but instead gave the job to actress and singer Aya Mpama.
Thembisa says losing out to Aya really upset her. “I’m a sensitive person and was very upset when the job went to Aya Mpama,” Thembisa says.

After Aya finished her time on Season 5 the show offered the job to Thembisa who says even though she was initially hesitant to check her social media when the first episode aired, she realised that people took well to her.
“I was so overwhelmed by the praise I actually cried,” Thembisa says.
